Wall-E…a sad future of human kind?

Pixar’s movie, Wall-E, is a warm hearted commentary on environmental pollution that portrays future humans as super-obese couch potatoes living in a robot & technology dominated world. It’s set some 700 years in the future, well after mankind so completely trashed Earth’s environment that it relocated humans to spaceships. There humans evolved into large, floating fat blobs.

But just as in the classic movie A Christmas Carol, the future doesn’t have to be as it’s foretold. By knowing possible futures that our current behavior might take us to, we can change and adopt technologies and policies that save the environment and help improve our health & well being while avoiding those that lead to a sedentary lifestyle and Axiom-like existence.
